Champion has a comparatively well-documented T-shirt tag progression in specialist archives. The classic script bar labels are useful era clues, but blank age and print age can still differ.

- Sweatshirt reverse-weave construction where relevant

- Calling every blue-bar item exactly 1970s
- Dating the graphic solely from blank tag
- Ignoring modern Champion heritage/reissue product
- Assuming old Champion means high value regardless of graphic/garment
How to list it when the date is not certain
Use wording such as “likely late 1980s / early 1990s based on label and construction” rather than inventing an exact year. Separate confirmed facts from estimates. For valuable branded items, authenticity deserves a separate check from age.
We prefer official marketplace/government material for rules and tax, and clearly label specialist/community evidence where no official dating archive exists.
